1. DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
An opportunity exists at the East London office.


2. MAIN ACTIVITIES/ KEY PERFORMANCE AREA:
  • ➢ Support the wealth manager with all para - planning and financial planning duties regarding the clients of the wealth manager.
  • ➢ Gathering all financial and investment information from clients and service providers and prepare a full financial and investment plan.
  • ➢ Attend client meetings, draw up meeting notes and keep the client informed regarding implementation progress of decisions taken.
  • ➢ Play an active role in client review process to update information and prepare documentation for the meetings.
  • ➢ Assist with relationship manager duties including submitting new investment plans, assist with the estate planning process whilst following a rigorous workflow process.
  • ➢ Prepared to travel.

3. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • ➢ B. Com, LL B or similar qualification OR Hons degree and/or Post Graduate diploma in financial planning; and
  • ➢ Computer literacy in Excel, Word and Office.
  • ➢ Estate planning knowledge would be an advantage

4. SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • ➢ Clear and concise communication skills; verbal, writing and telephone;
  • ➢ Self-motivated;
  • ➢ Attention to detail;
  • ➢ Works accurately and independently;
  • ➢ Must be financially literate; and
  • Client centric.

5. WORKING EXPERIENCE:
At least five years financial planning experience.

6. REMUNERATION:
A total cost to company market related salary (including benefits) is offered.

1. DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
An opportunity exists to express your passion for exceptional service in the provision of pension fund accounting administration.


2. MAIN ACTIVITIES:
  • ➢ Daily processing of receipts and payments through the accounting system;
  • ➢ Daily reporting on outstanding payments;
  • ➢ Daily loading of payments into the banking system;
  • ➢ Updating of the contribution register upon receipts of monies from each pay point;
  • ➢ Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and all relevant general ledger control accounts;
  • ➢ Monthly cash flow reporting;
  • ➢ Monthly investment reconciliations;
  • ➢ Assume responsibility for monthly and ad-hoc creditor payments;
  • ➢ Monthly updating of Fund schedules in respect of administration fees, consulting fees, reinsurance premiums, contributions; in preparation for year-end audits;
  • ➢ Identifying and communicating any differences between amounts due and amounts paid/received in respect of monthly expenses/income, and ensuring resolved monthly;
  • ➢ Assisting with compiling of year-end audit files for review by Manager/Head within the relevant deadlines and according to the required deliverables of Verso and the auditors;
  • ➢ Quarterly reporting to the SA Reserve Bank;
  • ➢ Any additional tasks as assigned by the Portfolio Manager: Fund Accounting; and
  • ➢ Be willing and able to assist on tasks of fellow Fund Accountants whenever there is a need due to staff being on leave.

3. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • ➢ Matric with strong accounting and mathematical abilities; and
  • ➢ B Comm/Acc Diploma or equivalent will be an advantage.

4. SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • ➢ Good verbal and written communication skills in English & Afrikaans.
  • ➢ Understanding of accounting principles.
  • ➢ Articulate presentation and professionalism.
  • ➢ Organised and good time management skills.
  • ➢ Client service orientated.Attention to detail/accuracy.
  • ➢ Positive attitude and open to change.
  • ➢ Proactive – uses initiative (Self-starter - able to self-motivate).
  • ➢ Must be able to work independently and under pressure.
  • ➢ Strong work ethic.

5. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles; and A good understanding of the Employee Benefits industry will be beneficial.


6. TECHNOLOGY:
Practical experience on Microsoft office (outlook, word, excel); and A suitable accounting package (preferably Accpac) an advantage.


7. WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Previous accounting experience (employee benefits industry will be an advantage).Contactable references.
